THE DAILY TRUMPET

"And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord: and the Lord delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years."

Judges 6:1

Israel was blessed of God in a very unique way.  They were given "the oracles of God," blessed with great and might miracles, and observed the very visible presence of God.  They received great light in their deliverance from Egypt, their wanderings in the wilderness, and their victories in the promised land.  They were without excuse in their rebellion against God, and He held them fully accountable for the light they received.  God's nature is unchanging!  Many among professing Christianity are quick to claim God never changes in their attempts to mimick certain sign gifts (which have nothing to do with the nature of God); but they refuse to believe that God would take actions of judgment in our present day.  This country has received great light since it's foundings in 1776, and even before our establishment as a nation, God's hand is evident in the founding of America by our forefathers.  This nation stands before God today guilty of neglecting and turning its back on the light she has received.  As a result, she will not escape the judgment of God, which is already upon us in varying degrees.  Would we continue our current course, there will be greater degreess to come.  Israel "did what was evil" and suffered judgment.  America, likewise is guilty of doing "what is evil in the sight of the Lord."  Rest assured, God is not finished with this nation!  Those who know Him must sound the trumpet and warn of that which is to come.

THE DAILY TRUMPET

"For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."

Isaiah 55:10-11

It's a fact: the rain and snow water the earth.  The result is a fruitful earth, and it all takes place because God ordered it, He has spoken it as being so.  God is and always will be true and faithful to His word. "He is not a man that He should lie." The word of God cannot fail!  It will come to past if God has spoken it!  God has spoken into existence the universe and this planet, as well as all other planets.  Everything that is was created by Jesus Christ, the Word of God.  He has spoken salvation and damnation, heaven and hell, redemption and judgment.  He has promised to save those who turn to Him by faith, and He has promised pour out his wrath upon and judge those who reject His Word.

THE DAILY SWORD

Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

Revelation 2:16

This was a warning to the church at Pergamos, but has relevance to various churches and church ages throughout history.  Today is no exception!  They were caught up in the "doctrine of Balaam," the false prophet who attempted to curse and lead God's people astray for financial gain.  They also heeded the "doctrines of the Nicolaitans," more purveyors of false teaching.  False teachings have spread like a cancerous tumor throughout the professing church, particularly in America.  The leaven has corrupted and led multitudes of professing Christians away from the Christ of Scripture.  The US was largely built on the blessings and word of God.  She has strayed, yes, even much of the professing church within.  Some have dared to cast aside a God of judgment, opting for a god created in their own fleshly minds, a god built and based upon worldly philosophy, instead of truth.  God is not beyond yielding the sword when necessary!  He will return with a sword to execute swift judgment!

THE DAILY SWORD

"For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, MURDERS."

Mark 7:21

Did you read that last word?  It's murder and Jesus says it comes from the heart.  Let me say this!  An individual cannot support nor sanction the murder of an unborn child in its mother's womb, or outside the womb without being defined as a murderer by God.  Man is born a murderer at heart, he is born with a "deceitfully wicked heart."  I recall as a teenager being an avid hunter.  I enjoyed killing birds, squirrils, and earnestly desired to kill a deer.  Why?  Because that's just what teenagers did where I grew up.  I remember finally killing a deer just for the pleasure; just for the rush of killing something.  God convicted my heart of murder at a very young age.  The death of that deer brought tears to my eyes, and I have not hunted since.  I have a high regard and appreciation for all life these days.  Folks, if can support the murder of children, if you can vote for someone who supports the murder of children, you're not fit nor prepared for heaven.  I suggest you call on the Great Physician for a heart transplant.

THE DAILY SWORD

"And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,"

Revelation 20:2

His day is coming, his time is running out, his days are numbered.  He is now becoming desperate and making his final play to overthrow God and take over the world.  He is a fool who believes he is greater and more powerful than God.  He is a lying serpent who has been around for a long time.  He is the devil, he is Satan, and an enemy of God.  He is defined as the "god of this world."  The serpent has recently revealed himself in Washington D.C., which was once the last great bastion and stronghold of freedom in the world.  Satan has now made his bid to capture this nation and has succeeded via this current president, the U.S. Supreme Court, and The Democrat Organized Crime Antichrist Party.  Satan is now pressing toward the implementation of his New World Order, and America has taken the bait.  God has sent a "strong delusion" around the world, and America is now under that delusion.  They are blinded by the "god of this world," and the curse levied upon them by the One True God due to their rebellion and unbelief.  The nations will fall captive to the Antichrist when he arrives.  There are small antichrist all over the world preparing the way for his arrival, and he will eventually come on the scene.  He will also fall when King Jesus returns to take back what is rightfully His.  Satan, his henchmen, and those who fall sway to his hypnotic koolaid delusions will be met with swift destruction.  Christ will show us how it should have been done, how it could have been done, and how it's going to be done, and no one will resist His power without swift and speedy judgment!

THE DAILY CROSS

"When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost."

John 19:30

Notice those three words, "it is finished."  Just what was it which was finished?  The mission He came to fulfill.  The redemption of sinful man was completed ON THE CROSS!  His sufferings and death on the cross were sufficient in meeting the demands of justice.  He then entered back into the rest He experienced in the land of glory called heaven.  The victory was settled at Calvary.  The war was won at Calvary.  The rest that Jesus promised those who would follow Him is found at Calvary.  That rest is death to self and our own works!  We can now rest in Him and allow Him to work through us.  Death to self on the cross brings rest to the weary, water to the thirsty, and food for the soul.  Have you been to the cross?  At the cross you will cease to believe your own works can draw you near to God.  At the cross you're learn, it's His works and the fulfillment of His mission that provides us rest.  At the cross you will discover you are no longer your own.  You will come to understand you were purchased with a great price.

"IT IS FINISHED."
THE DAILY HOPE

"Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength:"

Isaiah 26:4

Who or what are you putting your trust in?  Have you already predetermined to trust the Lord forever, is He your eternal hope?  It's difficult in our age to find anyone to put your trust in.  Many who are displayed as prominent ministers in the church are bringing disgrace and shame to to the name of Christ.  Who can be trusted?  I learned many years ago not to place my trust in man.  Man will fail, man will let you down, but never will the Lord.  If there were ever a day in which man needed strength to face each moment, we're living in it.  Thomas Paine said, "these are the days that try the souls of men."  Indeed, that day is upon us!  Our Lord not only offers strength for today's trials, but "everlasting strength."  Have you made Christ the strength and focal point of your life?

THE DAILY SWORD

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

1 John 4:1

My friends, we are living in an extremely deceptive day.  Not only are these times deceptive, but filled with people who are extremely naive and suceptible to the lies in the world, as well as in the church.  If not for the knowledge that these are signs of the last days, it would be frightening to witness what is transpiring in our age.  It would seem the majority are prone to the deceptive lies of Satan.  Lying politicians are believed, lying preachers are believed, and those who dare to tell the truth are scorned.  Only by the grace of God can the true man of God proceed forward in such a dark, wicked, sin-stained world.  Because men refuse to believe in the one true Christ displayed in Scripture; they are proned to believe anything else.  I marvel at those who would believe in space ships and aliens; yet refuse to believe in a Creator, angels, devils, and Satan.  Many false prophets lived and preached in John's day.  That has not changed!  The professing church, particularly in America has been swamped by hucksters masquerading as God's servants, and robbing God's people, while many true works of God suffer with financial needs.  How tragic it is that God's people have so been led astray by spirits.
THE DAILY TRUMPET

"Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man. Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies."

Psalm 108:12-13

God's people must and will look to Him for help.  He is and always be faithful to deliver those who are faithful from trouble.  Many, even in the professing church are looking to man and worldly philosophies, rather than truly looking too and trusting God.  All help which comes from man, unless it comes via Jesus Christ is in vain.  God's true people will always be victorious, for Christ has already won the battle.  In the end, the enemies of God's people will know the error of their ways and will tread down by God.  Judgment and wrath will fall upon the enemies of God and His people.

THE DAILY HOPE

"Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us."

Ephesians 3:20

Did you read that?  GOD IS ABLE!  What is He able to do?  He is able to exceed in abundance beyond your imagination. Notice this power that works in us!  That would be the very power of God.  "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you" was the promise Jesus made to His disciples.  The moment we are born again, the very power of God takes up residence in these human vessels and begins a supernatural work within these earthen vessels.  He performs both an immediate and progressive change.  The immediate change is a new spirit of divine origin defined as the new birth, in which we are set apart for the purposes, works, and plans of God.  He instills within us "the mind of Christ," and the Holy Spirit begins the work of progressive sanctification, which slowly conforms us into the very image and likeness of Christ.  Now, that my friends is POWER!  In the process of maturity we will begin to see, hear, think, behave and pray with "the mind of Christ."  Have you taken a step of faith, and invited Christ into your life?

THE DAILY SWORD
                   by Michael Wrenn

"And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God."

Revelation 19:13

Jesus came the first time "meek and lowly."  He came as one willing to be born in a manger, one who had "no place to lay His head," and as one who would ride on a lowly beast such. That's a far cry from many of those who proclaim His name today, and yet promise the best of both worlds.  The word of God makes it clear; He has promised to return and will certainly fulfill His promise to believers and unbelievers.  He is coming back with clothes that have been dipped in blood, and He will be known as "The Word of God."  He will return with the power of judgment, as a man of war.  He is returning with the will and power to recompense men for their deeds, whether good or bad.  He is returning to smite the wicked, to confine those whose names are not written in the book, and to reward those who have truly received Him by faith and demonstated such faith by righteous actions.  Which side of eternity will you be found in when the final page is consummated?

THE DAILY TRUMPET
        by Michael Wrenn

"That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive."

Ephesians 4:14

According to Paul, the professing church in America is filled with "children."  There comes a time when we need to grow up spiritually.  Far too many fail to develop and mature in Christ due to their blatant neglect of spiritual issues.  Most are simply too busy with the world to give the necessary time to spiritual development.  Just as with the case in the political arena; there are those on the left and right leading sheep astray.  Satan is a crafty creature who uses crafty men to lead spiritual children astray.  In my day I have seen multitudes of immature spiritual children misled by false doctrines taught by many who are perhaps deceived themselves, and some who understand what they are doing.  They maintain their cash flow with deceptive promises of the flesh and crafty twistings of Scripture.
THE DAILY CROSS

"Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)"

Philippians 3:17-19

We have already seen Jesus preaching division when He demanded that we love Him more than mother, father, brother, sister, and other members of our earthly family. He even went so far as to say, "I did not come to bring peace, but a sword."   Now, here we have Paul advising us to mark people who are defined as "enemies of the cross."  Listen, many of these people are found in the church, and can only be seen clearly should you dare to lift up the carpet.  That's where you'll find the dirt!  Paul is weeping over what he knows, sees, and hears.  Listen up, some are weeping today over the same thing!  Some things within the church have not changed.  These folks are here and in abundance within the professing body of Christ.  They are centered on earthy things and filling their own bellies.  Isn't it amazing how many professing Christians are caught up in a religion today which promises them earthly things and flesly fulfillments, rather than a cross.

THE DAILY CROSS

Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

1 John 3:15

For those who would dare believe they can support the murder of babies in their mothers wombs, as well voting for politicians who support the right for mothers to murder their babies, this verse aptly applies.  In order to kill a baby in its mother's womb you must hate it. Only those with murder in the heart can support such a position.  Now, the Bible says we're all born with murder in our hearts; therefore we need a heart change or heart transplant.  This is the Great Physicians offer of spiritual life.  Only Christ can take a murderous heart and replace it with a heart of love, mercy, and compassion.  John is clear, "no murderer has eternal life."  Most of the politicians, many judges, many voters, and this current president are here defined as murders, and they have no life in them.

THE DAILY HOPE

But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Matthew 19:26

There are times when we are tempted to believe and say, "there is no way."  If there is no way, then God's desire for us is not to got that way!  When we seek the face of God, desire to obey Him with all out hearts, and obey Him, God is there to see us through.  What may seem impossible to us at times is no sweat for God; remember, He once made the sun stand still in giving Joshua time to win the battle he was engaged in.  When the situation looks impossible, and brings you through, only God gets the glory and you know He has worked on your behalf.  Our experiences in a difficult hour can be a faith builder.  Learn to trust God, and your hope in Him will see you through.
THE DAILY SWORD

This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

Matthew 15:8

Those who only profess to know and worship God have always been around.  As the preacher said, "there is nothing new under the sun."  These folk had religion of the mouth, but had experienced no real change of heart.  Simply stated they claimed to know and worship God with the mouth, but they denied knowing Him by their actions.  You've heard the saying, "actions speak louder than words."  It's within the heart of man where change takes place.  Paul said we must not only confess with the mouth, but "believe in the heart."  It's heart belief, not mouth confession that will stand the test.  Heart belief proves itself by righteous behavior.

THE DAILY TRUMPET

"Thy prophets have seen vain and foolish things for thee: and they have not discovered thine iniquity, to turn away thy captivity; but have seen for thee false burdens and causes of banishment."

Lamentations 2:14

An apt description concerning much, if not most of the current professing church in America.  Foolishness and vanity fill the Christian broadcasting media and pulpits across America.  The once fruited plain has become a rotten pit.  Say a little prayer, live like there is no God, and be ready for heaven on the day of judgment.  Rarely do we hear preachers denouncing sin, demanding repentance, and calling for holy living.  The professing church in our nation is held captive by fleshly promises and selfish desires.  False, misleading, doctrines of devils have become the mainstream in the American church. Professing herself to be rich, she is blinded, wretched, miserable, and poor.

THE DAILY CROSS

"How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.  These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit."

Jude 18-19

The world is currently filled with mockers.  Ungodly lusts are dominating the planet, as well as our nation.  Sensuality has become the rule of our age.  "If it feels good do it" they would say.  Live it up, fulfill those fleshly desires is the mindset of the hour.  Deny yourself nothing!  Take a good look around and see where that philosophy has brought us too.  And they have invaded the church as well.  Just repeat a little prayer and go on living anyway you choose, you're under grace.  Grace has become a license to sin in much of the church.  The "faith once delivered to the saints" is under assault.  The real church must rise to the challenge in these last days and expose the false.  We must steer back towards "fruits meet for repentance."

THE DAILY HOPE

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you."

1 Peter 1:3-4

Did you get that?  It's a "lively hope" based upon the resurrection of Christ from the dead. It's a certain hope that goes far beyond a mere wish.  It's a steafast hope in that it's "incorruptible."  Our hope is defined as being undefiled, one that will never fade away.  We already have a place reserved for us in heaven.  The certainty of such hope provides us with the assuracnce of security -- eternal security.

THE DAILY SWORD

"And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,  In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ."

2 Thessalonians 1:7-8

We know Jesus Christ is coming back, it's just a matter of time.  He will be revealed in His return accompanied by mighty angels to establish His kingdom on earth.  Did I read the second part of this Scripture correctly?  What kind of a loving God is this?  One who comes in "flaming fire," one who will be "taking vengeance."  Oh my, does the church know this Jesus?  Do we ever hear about this side of Jesus from the pulpit anymore?  Who is He going to take vengeance on?  Those who do not know God, "THOSE WHO DO NOT OBEY THE GOSPEL."  Understand, those who know God, obey God!  A claim to know God without corresponding obedience testifes to a false faith, belief in a different Jesus, another gospel.  When a person truly comes to Christ, he is born-again, receives a divine nature of which sin is offensive too.  When a person truly knows Christ, he will have a heart's desire to obey God.  If there is no desire to please God, there has been no transformation.

THE DAILY SWORD

"If ye forsake the Lord, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good."

Joshua 24:20

Here is the backslider, the one who has turned away from God and gone out after the things of the world, following after the fleshly desires of his mind, chasing after false gods of promise.  He is simply refusing to do what is right and walk in righteousness.  Sure, the backslidden Christian, if he really knows Christ is under grace.  Disciplinary action sometimes requires taking a child to the woodshed, and that means painful lessons in life.  Yes indeed, God will take the sword, the rod to His own children.  He will never condemn His own, yet He will do what's necessary to bring them back home to a place of safety, comfort, peace, and joy.  I experienced this first hand for ten years of my life.  I knew the truth and yet lived in blatant rebellion and unrightessness as a worldling.  God dealt with me over and over again, sometime severely, allowing me to visit cells of dark misery.  God's sword can be used as a surgical tool of discipline to bring us back to a place of righteousness and sanity.  It's best just to continue walking with Him.  He is not above turning you over to the enemy for squeezing if necessary.  If He turned Job (a righteous man) over to the enemy for His purposes, what would make someone think unrighteous living may not merit the same consequences?

THE DAILY TRUMPET

"For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him."

2 Corinthians 11:4

The issue "another gospel" is nothing new to our day and age.  Paul and the other apostles battled it in the Early Church.  Anyone with an ounce of discernment understands the professing church of our day has been saturated with "other gospels."  Entire denominations and movements are now built on gospels that are foreign to "the faith once delivered to the saints."  The deception readily apparent among God's on people is appalling in our day. I believe we are rapidly approaching the day in which "a great falling away" has been prophesied.  For those who can truly discern the condition of professed Christianity, it's a burdensome issue.  Watching God's people led astray by the false teachings prevalent in our day is truly troubling.  I encourage you to spend time in God's word and pray for spiritual discernment.  Dare not believe you are above deception!  Satan is a master at masquerading as an "angel of light," twisting the Scriptures, and setting forth a very appealing message which tickles flesly ears.
THE DAILY CROSS

"Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.  For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.  And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.  He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.  And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me."

Matthew 10:34-38

Wow, did you read this?  Could such a statement possibly have come from the lips of Jesus Christ?  Where can this Jesus be found in the church today?  Does such a Jesus really exist?  This Jesus seems to be totally absent from today's pulpits and pews.  Jesus actually said, "don't think I come to send peace on earth."  What do we hear about at Christmas, as well as 364 more days of the year about Jesus?  I thought He was defined as the "Prince of Peace?"  Jesus came to bring man back into a peaceful relationship with God, He came to bring peace to the human heart which is "deceitfully wicked."  Jesus brings peace of heart and peace of mind to those who will truly follow Him.  He brought division between righteousness and unrighteosness.  He brought the promise of eternal separation and judgment for those who reject His way.  Jesus did not come to bring peace to the world, but to the human heart. Many have experienced the peace which He brought and promised.  The world will never have peace without Christ.  There is a great gulf of division between Light and darkness.  When Christ comes again, He will bring and establish peace around the world. How will He do that?  With a "rod of iron."
THE DAILY HOPE

"Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me."

Hebrews 13:5-6

Here is a great promise of certainty!  Such hope goes far beyond any hope the world can ever begin to offer.  God has made the promise to always be with us; that is, when we are of Him.  It doesn't matter how you feel or what you think, God has made the promise.  We must learn to "walk by faith and not by sight."  You may not feel God, you may not see God, you may have periods where you can't seem to hear God, but He has promised to always be there.  Learn to stand on the promise, feelings, thoughts, and emotions can be deceiving.  We must hold on the altar of His promise!  When we do, fear of what man says, thinks or threatens will have no place in our lives.  Jesus Christ is our Helper, He is the Lord; "and if God be for us, who can be against us?"

THE DAILY SWORD

If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha.

1 Corinthians 16:22

Be sure and grasp what Paul is saying here.  He has declared a curse upon those who do not love Jesus Christ.  Just who does not love Christ?  All who have not been born again, for it's impossible to love without Christ and the Holy Spirit dwelling within.  Who does this man Paul think he is to make such a declaration?  Paul is a man who believes and knows the word of God, which makes itself very clear.  Those who do not know; those who do not love are easily defined.  God's word says those who love Him will obey Him.  We must understand it's impossible to obey Christ unless we know Him and love Him.  Those who do not know and love Jesus Christ have already been judged, already condemned, already have the wrath of God resting upon them, and God's judgment is a certainty, unless they repent and look to Jesus Christ by faith.  Very simply put, those who do love Christ are cursed!

THE DAILY TRUMPET

"Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the Lord, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the Lord."

Jeremiah 23:32

The professing church in America has been flooed with those who claim to know and speak for god.  having spent ten years in the pentecostal / charismatic movements several years ago, i have seen much of it.  I left the movement because I could no longer with conviction remain within it.  I have read the books with great stories of visions, dreams, miracles, and teachings of great faith.  I see the liberal churches compromising and watering down the word of god, and blatantly sinning against god in the immoral doctrines and philosophies they are accepting.  From the far left to the far right, the professing church has strayed and erred.  Undoubtedly, there are many in pulpits all across this nation and yet God has not sent them.  They promote and teach lies that are leading multitudes away from the straight and narrow path of which Jesus spoke.  They promise the people freedom, when they themselves are subjects of deception and bondage.
THE DAILY CROSS

But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

Galatians 6:14

It all begins and ends at the cross.  The cross is an instrument of death.  Jesus met death at the cross and then proceeded to demonstrate His power over it.  Victory over sin and death was won at the cross, it was sealed when Jesus breathed His last words upon it.  What does it mean to you and me?  It's essential for the Christian to visit the cross just as Jesus did.  "Those who would come after Me, let him take up his cross."  God has a cross for all of us to bear in this world.  In coming to the cross we die to the world, we crucify the desires of the flesh, we suffer as Christ suffered, and we testify to a newness of  life. I am now dead to the world, and alive to Christ.  I was crucified with Him.  The world has nothing to offer me; this body of death has nothing to offer me.  I've been buried and raised in Him to spiritual life.  I glory on in what Christ accomplished at the cross.  Sin was defeated, death was destroyed. I have eternal life and victory over sin in Christ through what He won at Calvary.
THE DAILY HOPE

And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

Joshua 10:13

What was that problem you were dealing with.? Are you facing a battle that seems impossible?  Has the war brought you to a place of weariness?  Just hold on!  Is anything too difficult for God? No!  Our God is actually able to stop time should He choose to do so.  He is able to move heaven and earth if need be.  God is sovereign, He is in control of all things.  Circumstances and situations have you sweating?  No need to fear!  Trust God, rely on Him, place your confidence in the God who created the moon, the sun, the stars, and all that is.  He is able to handle whatever you are facing in life.

THE DAILY SWORD

"But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the Lord was kindled against the children of Israel."

Joshua 7:1

Many in the church, as well as the world are guilty of rejecting any idea which suggest that God is, or can become angry today. This is foolish thinking. In the Old Testament as well as the New, we discover the attributes, attitudes and emotions of God. God's anger is always justified. In this text, God became angry with His own people, His chosen people, because someone in the camp (Achan), blatantly disobeyed His his clear command.  God's grace does not negate His other attributes.  Much of the church, and many professing Christians are guilty of creating their own god based upon their prescribed prejudices. Does God forgive? Yes!  Does God still discipline? Yes! Does God still judge? Yes! God does not change.  His attributes and characteristics as displayed in the Old Testament have not changed.  In the ministry of Jesus we must note, He also became angry and sometimes His anger was very demonstrative.
THE DAILY TRUMPET

To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

1 Corinthians 5:5

In reading this text, an interesting thought comes to mind.  What would most churches today do with such an individual?  It would seem this indivdual was a professing Christian, else he would not have been a member of the church in Corinth.  The church at Corinth was ladened with problems, and sexual sin was a  great concern.  The city of Corinth was known for its sexual iniquity, and converted saints brought fleshly desires and immorality over into the church.  Oh my, how much of a problem is sexual sin in today's professing church, and how often do we address it?  Paul advised the church to shun this individual and put him out of the church until he repented.  Until such time they were to have nothing to do with him.  He was to be treated as a heathen until he recognized adn resolved his iniquity.  Much of the professing church in our day goes so far as to condone sexual sin.  To speak out against it has become as judgmental preaching to a great number.  Many churches of our day would take no action at all against those who commit blatant sexual sin in the church.  In doing so, they fail to function as a New Testament Church.

THE DAILY CROSS

"And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:  They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;  (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth."

Hebrews 11:36-38

Just what did these individuals do in order to receive such abuse?  Very simply, they proclaimed the truth with boldness and conviction.  They were so certain of what they believed that threat of death was no deterrent in shutting their mouths. Just as the religious world covered its ears when Stephen the first martyr proclaimed his message, they close it on the same message today.  This bunch of God-fearing men upset the status quo! They turned the world upside down.  They did not carry a familiar message, but one which was foreign to what people wanted to hear.  The New Testament saint carried on with a similar message.  Not much has changed.  A little religion is acceptable in our world.  A ten minute sermonette on tulips is acceptable in our churches.  But waved off is the man who comes forth with a message demanding repentance from sin, and a display of righteous fruits in the lives of those who claim to know Christ.  Dare a man of God call for those who name the name of Christ to "depart from iniquity."  He will be reprimanded, scolded, accused of judging, shunned, and written off as an outdated dinosaur.  The message the prophets, the message of Jesus, the disciples, the apostles, and those truly called of God throughout the ages has always been rejected by the world, and most often within the church that proclaims His name.
THE DAILY HOPE

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Philippians 1:6

Paul had confidence in the word and promises of God.  He was convinced that God would deliver on His promise.  God had begun a work in Paul's life, He had begun a work in the Philippians; and if you know Him, He has begun a work in you.  Does anyone actually believe that God can fail?  God's word is steadfast and gives us written assurance the what God starts, God finishes.  If you are confident that God has begun a work in you, then you can be confident that He will finish it.  God does not, and cannot fail in what He sets forth to do.  You're in good hands with God when you have placed your trust in the One who is faithful and true.  Herein lies the assurance of eternal security in Him.
THE DAILY SWORD

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

John 3:3

Hopefully we can agree that anything Jesus Christ said must be extremely important, especially when we consider the fact that He claimed and proved to be God in the flesh.  Whenever we notice Jesus using the two words "verily, verily," we should take serious notice; this is no menial declaration  This phrase identifies what He is about to say as being of extreme value.  There is no entrance into God's kingdom, into God's heaven, unless a man is born-again.  Now, that's serious business that should cause us to be inquisitive.  Obviously, the question arises, just as it did with Nicodemus, how can this be?  When Adam sinned, he died spiritually.  This spiritual death passed on via sin to all of his earthly descendents.  Man needs a spritual resurrection, and only God can raise the dead.  To be born-again is to be spiritually resurrected to life by God.  God has made Himself available in and through Jesus Christ, and has declared there is not other path to glory.  The new birth is a literal spiritual birth by which man is resurrected to spiritual life. It's a supernatural, internal change within man's spirit.  He then begins a spiritual journey in the process of sanctification, and slowly progresses into the "image and likeness of Christ."  Can you say with certainty, "preacher, I know I have been born-again?"

THE DAILY TRUMPET

"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

Jesus Christ left this planet after walkng upon it for some thirty-three years.  He returned to His heaven home in the land of glory from whence He came.  He left with the promise that He would on day return, and He gave the disciples certain signs which would evidence of His Second Coming.  Those signs have been upon us for some time, the violence and corruption continues to increase, and God promised to do a short work upon the earth.  It's been over two-thousand years.  By all appearances the day of His return seems to be drawing near.  The "shout" and the "trump" may be heard at anytime.  Oh my friends, what a great and glorious day it will be!  Whether we be among those who are "caught up," or among those who "rise first;" it will be a day of great glory, excitement, and splendor for those who know Him.  On the other hand; it will be a day of great fear, confusion, and complexity for those who are left behind to suffer the wrath and judgment of God which He has promised those who reject and refuse Him.  Do you know Him?  Can you say with certainty, "preacher, if the trump sounded today, I would be among those who meet Him in the air."  Can you say with certainty, "preacher, I know with certainty if I die today, I have a home prepared for me in heaven."
