THE DAILY TRUMPET

To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

1 Corinthians 5:5

In reading this text, an interesting thought comes to mind.  What would most churches today do with such an individual?  It would seem this indivdual was a professing Christian, else he would not have been a member of the church in Corinth.  The church at Corinth was ladened with problems, and sexual sin was a  great concern.  The city of Corinth was known for its sexual iniquity, and converted saints brought fleshly desires and immorality over into the church.  Oh my, how much of a problem is sexual sin in today's professing church, and how often do we address it?  Paul advised the church to shun this individual and put him out of the church until he repented.  Until such time they were to have nothing to do with him.  He was to be treated as a heathen until he recognized adn resolved his iniquity.  Much of the professing church in our day goes so far as to condone sexual sin.  To speak out against it has become as judgmental preaching to a great number.  Many churches of our day would take no action at all against those who commit blatant sexual sin in the church.  In doing so, they fail to function as a New Testament Church.
